Our Mission

Diabetes Dayton is dedicated to the assistance and support of individuals affected by diabetes.

We are a local, independent diabetes agency serving the Dayton area.  We are not affiliated with other agencies like the American Diabetes Association (ADA) or the Juvenile Research Foundation (JDRF).

Diabetes in Ohio

  • Ohio has an 8.1% rate of diabetes in adults, higher than the national average of 7.9%.
  • Montgomery County has 13.1% rate of diabetes in its residents. Diabetes is the 6th leading cause of death in Ohio.
  • The direct and indirect cost of diabetes in Ohio totals an estimated $5.9 billion.

2014 Diabetes Expo

We are pleased to invite the general public to our 42nd Annual Diabetes Expo on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the Ponitz Conference Center at Sinclair Community College from 9:00am until 1:00pm. This annual event occurs every year during Diabetes Awareness Month. Guests of this event will be able to enjoy hearing presentations on diabetes related topics presented by top area professionals, speak with vendors from different local and national companies and organizations, and receive free health screenings including A1C (limited amount available).  Please mark this date on your calendar and during the month of November remember to let others know about this event as well.

Our mission, as an independent diabetes organization, is to assist and support all individuals affected by diabetes so they can live quality, productive lives.
